A board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in mental health since 2010, and built this practice around the way she wanted to be able to practise.
Ifeoma Alaribe is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, specialising in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Her work in mental health began in 2010 at a psychiatric hospital. Those early years shaped what came next: a decision to advance her education so she could take on more responsibility for the care itself rather than watch it from one step removed.
She founded Novo Behavioral Health on the belief that mental health care should be accessible, respectful, personalised and free from stigma. That means an environment where people feel heard, valued and genuinely involved in decisions about their own treatment, rather than informed of them afterwards.
In practice this comes down to listening properly and looking at the whole person. Sleep, stress, physical health and circumstance are part of the assessment, not context to be skipped over, and the aim of every appointment is that you leave understanding your own care.
What to expect
You are not rushed
A first appointment runs about 60 minutes because a real evaluation takes that long. Follow-ups run about 30 minutes, which is long enough to actually talk.
You understand your own treatment
You will know what a medication is for, how long it takes to work, what to watch for, and when it gets reviewed. Nothing is prescribed that you do not understand.
Nothing is decided over your head
You will never be pressured into a treatment decision without the chance to understand the options and take part in the choice.
The whole picture counts
Sleep, physical health, other medication and what is happening in your life are part of the assessment rather than background noise.
A referral when it is the right answer
Where what you need sits outside this practice, you get a proper referral and coordination rather than being kept in the wrong room.
